Resume, Cover Letter, Resignation and Reference Letter Help

~ Job Search Info ~

Hello, jobseekers. Hello people with a job that want to get out! Hello people who want a letter of reference to move on to their next job. Here I can provide you with my efforts at creating an online resume, show you my recent letter of resignation from the Boston Globe (a newspaper in Boston, Massachusetts, USA) and direct you to some online resources that provide other templates for creating resumes and cover letters, and even some job-hunting strategies.

My career is either just started or just finished. I recently quit my job at the Boston Globe (in Classified Advertising) to focus full time on creating websites like the one you're currently visiting! It is exciting, but at the same time a bit scary, as I now have to fully pay for services such as health insurance that previously came from an employer's pocket.

In my albeit short career I have had numerous job experiences, as I am sure many of you have. My first job was working on a small family farm in Peabody, MA. I then graduated to the luxury of handling people's groceries as a bagboy and helping women try on shoes as a salesperson. In my college studies (for International Affairs) I tried on various nonprofit hats and found that none fit. I came home to Boston and am now fully self-employed! And, what a journey it has been.

Sometimes I crave the stability that a job with a clear-cut career path enables. My friends are largely becoming lawyers at a surprising rate, and many in my family have involvement within the healthcare field. I am the odd man out, the black sheep (well, not that harsh, but almost!). Yet, then I realize that waking up at 10am and luxuriating in my shower for as long as I desire is a perk that none of those careers can provide on a consistent, daily basis, so I am satiated.

OK-so, now for what you came here in search of. I honestly hope this helps you in whatever endeavor you chose. Bear in mind that a jobsearch is ultimately for YOUR betterment, for YOUR monetary needs, and for YOUR well-being. So, be choosy-you deserve it.

Without further adieu, to the right are documents from my job searching days as well as other helpful resources!
