Xanga Backgrounds. The perils of peopling paradise became apparent the other day as Hurricanes Bonnie and Charley (should have been Clyde, clearly!) beared down on Florida. For a while, Florida's 'Sunshine State' motto became a rather hollow irony. Just like New Jersey and its 'Garden State' status? Either way, with televised images of destruction, I am wary and worried that I in some way always look forward to storms of such a beastly nature. Living on a safe hill in Massachusetts may have made me that way, but the prospect of a news event created by the force of nature is in and of itself just awe-inspiring, I guess.
